Cooking For Fun and Taste On a Budget
For a while now we have been listening to the news on how our economy is failing us. How people are being evicted from their houses because they cant pay their home loan and people are going to bed hungry.
I started discussing this with my family members who some lived during the depression, started talking food and found some recipes that were not only economical but delicious as well. There are no fancy ingredients to be hunted down, and granted there might be trip to the store involved, but it will probably be for something that you needed to buy anyhow.
Most of these recipes were handed down to me from my mother, and some have been served as a family tradition on Christmas Eve for our annual buffet on that day. Other's are recipes that I have come up with myself or given to me by friends and family.
The Chocolate Cream Pie is to die for, Lemon Bars so refreshing you will have to make 2 batches and The Almond Roca bars will have your kids asking for you to make more also.
The links to some of the many recipes are located above and there will be more to come soon. So keep checking back for more delicious recipes.
Please enjoy and if anything it will make you forget about your mortgage, student loans, car payments and turn off the news for awhile and just sit down with your family for a tasty dinner or dessert and watch the smiles return to their faces.
